[Open] Drunk uncle is in town

WHO: Oghren and whoever wants to meet him
WHAT: Oghren has sloshed into Skyhold. Time for people to meet him.
WHEN: Starting on Drakonis 9 and going on after that
WHERE: Locations in Skyhold
NOTES: Oghren is a perv. And a drunk. And has a dirty mouth. That's a good start for a warning right?

Arrival - Closed to Anders and Nathaniel

He'd been on a cart the last he'd checked. Likely some merchant heading this way with some supplies. Really he hadn't paid much attention and had simply heard 'headed to Skyhold' and had hopped on. Good enough for him. He could do the whole riding with a stranger thing. Besides, he could kick their ass if he needed to.

Still, all of this had led to him being under a bush somehow. Feet sticking out, stinking up the location. Really one would think a body had just died under that bush considering how it wasn't moving. And this was what Anders and Nate got to stumble upon while they were out together doing...whatever they were doing.

Good thing that upon investigation there was suddenly a loud snore coming out of the bush. Hooray not a dead guy!

Hello Skyhold - Open to EVERYONE ELSE

After having gotten his bearings a bit here, namely he was now here and he'd refilled his flask, Oghren could now be seen figuring this place out. The training grounds, the Warden camp, and the tavern were his favorite places to be for various reasons. But it wasn't really hard to miss the fact that there was a new dwarf in town. Not only did he have flaming red hair but he wasn't exactly stealthy. And that was before anyone touched on that unique odor attached to him.

Yep, Oghren was here and he was determining whether or not he regretted coming to a place that didn't seem to have much excitement going on. But he supposed that since it had booze that he could get past that a bit. So one could likely find him drinking or telling tall tales or even giving his axe a swing (don't worry, he kept that to the training grounds). Whatever the case was, they were easily greeted by him suddenly letting out a loud belch then him looking over.

"Eh? You need something there?"

Kieran is staring.

Not that Kieran staring is anything out of the ordinary really but usually Morrigan knows why her son is staring at something and knows what to say should he make a comment someone might react poorly to. The training grounds have held his interest far more since he started getting lessons with Alistair so not exactly a surprise but--

She knew she awoke with a headache for a reason. She knew.

"Mother?" Kieran asks because yes, she did tell him stories about before. "That's him, isn't it?" And helpfully he nods and smiles at the dwarf before she can stop him.

Hopefully Oghren won't notice that the nose doesn't come from Morrigan, that unfortunately it's a very Theirin nose sitting in the middle of Kieran's face. Not something a stranger puts together but spend a Blight together and well, she Zevran and Leliana both know the truth.

Why she expected him to be anything other than crude is beyond her. "I did indeed, though not quite so easily as that." The last words are muttered, more for Kieran's sake than anything else because she was alone, it wasn't exactly a fun time.

"Tw-" Recoiling slightly because turns out mother wasn't lying about the nigh visible aura of ale, the lad recovers himself. "I'll be twelve this year."

"You have a child?"

Perhaps not so shocking a thought as Morrigan having one since Oghren had been married and there had been Felsi in the tavern, as well as him not being the way Morrigan was then. The person who departed when the battle was won, never to be seen again. Well, that had been the plan.

Plans change, that's the way of the world.

Inclining her head when Kieran looks to her, he nods, and it's Morrigan's smile (rare as that might have been in those days) when he accepts, offers a thanks as well because he gets his manners from her side of the family.

"How did you find your way to the Inquisition? I only knew of Leliana and Wynne after the ending of the Blight." Wynne because she died and Leliana because Orlais is Orlais and everyone knows everyone's business. Then again, remembering how Oghren had joined them she's bracing herself for just about anything.

"The real name? Else I imagine you would have fewer parts to speak of." A point in Oghren's favour is that he does seem to like a woman with a temper. "A lifetime in Orzammar and the Fifth Blight were not enough Darkspawn for you?"

That very few trips Deep Roads adjacent with the Inquisition have been more than enough Darkspawn for Morrigan since disappearing off into the shadows after all was said and done ten years ago. Two trips in total. After ten years. Both eyebrows are now lodged firmly in her hairline which is a good time for Kieran to do that thing he does because there's a reason people generally don't perform Dark Rituals to imbue their child with the soul of an Old God.

"I thought he'd be scarier," he says to Morrigan, "not taller, not without the titans but it's a lot of anger, isn't it?"

"Do you not have practice with your sword today? Best run along, little man." It should buy her a second or two if Oghren wants to ask where that came from because it always happens when she isn't entirely prepared for it.

(Note to self: do not wear The Dress around Oghren. Of course now fate shall conspire against her to cause just such a circumstance.)

"I am certain the merchant was grateful for your company, so many tales to regale him with." So many morsels lodged in the beard to be shared. Anders is a name that makes her mouth twist though less than it did in the past before she watches Kieran head off in the direction of wherever he might find Alistair. "Before you lost anything to the cold and the snows I take it? Had you come earlier in the winter you might not have been found until the spring thaw, you may need to take care where your drinking takes you here."

Uncle dad. Alistair asked, Morrigan said yes because sometimes it's easy and sometimes it's not, and Morrigan-- Morrigan is trying very hard and so is Alistair. Kieran looks very dashing running around in the red cape he's taken to wearing when he's been having his lesson.

(A terrible combination, her bloodline and his, all that drama condensed into one small person.)

"There is plenty here and ample guest quarters should you wish to extend an invitation for them to visit. The roads are easier to travel than they were previously." Is she trying to be delicate? Yes. But Morrigan gets the parenting thing herself and there are plenty of things she's done for Kieran over the years including the semi-frequent jaunts to go camping around Skyhold because both of them are still swamp creatures in their souls.

Pinching her brow, she sighs through her nose. "I told him of the Fifth Blight and all of you, that you were a berserker was mentioned more than once. I cannot imagine where the other part came from, he has many friends in Skyhold now and a library available, who knows what goes on in their heads."

Oghren. Oghren don't make Old God Babies. Do not ever do that. That right there was the result and sometimes the nightmares and fear make you burn your brand new friendships with your old friends that you then have to painstakingly repair and it's terrible. Would not recommend.

"Do I ever get the name of this child when you've spoken with mine? Far more than many can ever claim." More than anything Morrigan's curious about it but she's allowed Oghren much very quickly compared to so many others. "Perhaps our paths might cross, Kieran enjoys meeting others and he adores Lucci. T'would be different to know another ages with himself."

Rolling her eyes she's glad at least to have some explanation before she can corner Alistair about it. He gets to voice an opinion even if she ultimately decides to ignore it. "An education is important and I will not fill his head with the nonsense of the Circle or the Chantry."

Morrigan knows better. She knows much that they do not after all.

"If you care to talk somewhere more comfortable I have a study I can show you to. I am sure you have had many adventures that Kieran will ask of." Just let her approve them first.

"No." Oghren please, this is Morrigan of course she doesn't believe you, she's hardly ever believed a half, no make that a quarter, of the words that have ever come out of your mouth. This is probably the longest she's paid attention to them that she can recall; tramping around the countryside in a group had advantages in getting to ignore people.

Unfortunately Morrigan was a mage. Thus downwind. Morrigan had to contend with ignoring two sets of odour (thanks Alistair) and sometimes far more of Zevran than she ever wished to set eyes upon.

"Yet if he has to have any other lessons, he must be around those who have known Circles and Chantry both, though these children may yet learn better lessons than their elders. One hopes." They'd better or Morrigan will be disgusted and disappointed both though she's not holding her breath when it comes down to lessons mages actually bother to learn that matter in the grand scheme of things.

"It does have alcohol. Orlesian and that which you might survive drinking." Morrigan does pause to consider what might happen if Oghren ingests the spirits used more for distilling tonics rather than getting a person drunk but if he's a Grey Warden now then he's certainly drunk worse.

"A mother has more right to name the child," Morrigan says because she knows what goes into the bearing and the delivering and the raising. Even if there's another person, there's still more in the initial parts that a man is less well-equipped to deal with. Plus she can only imagine some horror stories of what children might be named. Promises to old friends she's overheard, long ancestral names for others. Better to let someone sensible get on with that business and not saddle a child with a monstrosity.

He's changed you Alistair had told her the first time they'd spoken and even though she'd been appalled at the idea of him being able to see it so easily, so long after they'd last spoken a word to one another. Now she's used to it, more comfortable with letting certain people in when there are others who know just how quickly the teeth and claws can and do reappear when she feels a need.

Leading the way with a small smirk as people get out of the way - for once not because of her, she's sure, she spares him a glance. "The spirits are not for mine own consumption. They have their uses in preserving some things or in my work when I have a need of them, some strong enough to burn the skin if care is not taken."
