[Closed] War Table Op: Once More Into The Berg
WHO: Anders, Alan, Ciri, Inessa, Jamie, Prompto
WHAT: The Inquisition needs some information, so it sends in these clowns
WHEN: Right around now
WHERE: Location
NOTES: Warning: Bad recorder playing
It's not every day the First Warden has a birthday party. In fact, it only happens once a year, provided multiple First Wardens don't get offed. It's been known to happen.
But it isn't happening any time soon, likely, which means the big birthday party with a lot of invitees is the best place to crash to try to get some desperately needed information. And while there are certainly dignified ways to do it, by slipping in a few bards or some servants, dignity is low on the list for this infiltration.
Their mission, as they've chosen to accept it, is to gather information while pretending to be entertainers. Let's hope this doesn't self destruct in five, four, three, two...

[ Tightrope walking, knife throwing and other fun acrobatic works as she explains. ]
I could probably teach some of you something. [ A beat. ] A big maybe, of course but still probably something to help.
no subject
Ah. He's not nodding, he's trying to catch the knit pom pom on the end of his long, trailing hat. But also nodding. Because: ]
What sort of something?
no subject
[ Plus that means if hell breaks out they could throw those knives into the eyes of people. People like the First Warden. ]
no subject
How many knives do you think it ought to be? How many did we bring?
[ almost a touch eagerly. his eyes might be bigger than his hands, here, ]
no subject
I can juggle around... six or so at a time. ( or used to buuuut details. ) Maybe we could get your juggling three or four, if we're feeling brave and no one has lost a finger.
no subject
[ the ratio of six to ten, three to ten, roughly one and a half fingers per knife to three fingers per knife — ]
no subject
Flexibility isn't my strong suit, I'm afraid. And while I have decent aim, it's normally with a staff. I don't suppose you know any dog tricks?
[Garahel lifts his head and wags his tail, eager to help.]
no subject
We could have him jump through hoops that just happen to be on fire, I guess. He could probably do it easily.
no subject
...I'll paint a fire resistant kaddis on him beforehand, just in case.
html why

When he's done, it won't just be Ferelden who adore mabari.
That's a relief, if he can take away attention from my general...lack of entertainment skills.
no subject
( she sighs but chuckles. ) Don't worry, we'll figure out something for you to do too.
no subject
[Anyone else...no, absolutely not. But Ciri knows what she's doing, and Inessa already trusts her with her life.]
no subject
( it means a lot to hear that, honestly. ) I suppose we could make a game of it. Fill balloons with some sort of powder that will react to fire. Not a lot, mind you... just something to create a sparkle.
no subject
[She smirks. Alchemy can be such a cheat, but it's worth it if it helps their act.]
And that sounds as thought it would be sufficient distraction for intoxicated partygoers.
no subject
( she crosses her arms at that, shaking her head. )
Believe me, I've done it before. Nobles love sparkly things.
no subject
[C'mon, Ciri, have some faith in yourself. Inessa certainly does.]
no subject
( A laugh because THIS IS JUST ASKING FOR TROUBLE. )
no subject
[The expression he gives her is more than a little amused.]
What did you do for the circus? With the circus. Whatever the term is.
no subject
( like that time she tried to make Alistair look half-way decent in makeup. )
Acrobatic stuff. Tightrope, flips and tricks on horseback. I also did some knife throwing.
no subject
[Anders considers that.]
I'm certain they'd love to see a show with that, as well as the acrobatics. Horseback tricks... we'll be inside, so those will be tricky. Would you teach knife throwing on the way, as well? I'd not mind learning.
[And not just for the performance opportunities.]
no subject
( because its true and Orlesians are weird. )
But, yes, knife throwing. I think we could at least get you hitting a still target and, who knows, perhaps even moving ones too.
no subject
[And not just for this; being able to hit moving targets eventually has practical applications outside of the mission.]
Shall we head outside camp, find some targets that are far enough away from people I'm not likely to accidentally hit someone?
no subject
( she's sure they could make a killing before their blood killed them or another Blight decided to kick up. )
Sounds like a plan! No reason to show up covered in bandages for our first performance.
