O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU (PART II(B))

WHO: Korrin, Krem, Walker, Zevran (possibly Araceli, Ellana, Jamie, Merrick via sending crystal?)
WHAT: Summary of content
WHEN: Just before the Emprise du Lion scouting mission
WHERE: The Fallow Mire
NOTES: Complaining about the Fallow Mire, because that's what people do. Probable violence. Also including a separate Sending Crystal thread within, to keep in contact with the other group.

Ah, the Fallow Mire. It hasn't changed a bit since Korrin's latest reprieve in Skyhold...unfortunately. The ever-present damp and gloom is starting to get to her again, though she keeps focused on the mission at hand. Not wanting her compromised direction sense to get her group into trouble, she says little on the way while paying attention to their route. Hopefully one of them will remember it and they won't wind up completely lost.

Stealth isn't Korrin's strong point, at all, but she does her best to keep noise to a minimum. As much as she loves baiting undead, now is not the time. So when they reach the waist-deep water, she sighs. Of course it would come to this sooner or later. She frowns upon staring at the wooden posts, then shakes her head. "I won't be able to make that. The best I can do is Fade Step through it as fast as possible. I can take someone with me, or make multiple trips."

Zevran would be alright, he's always light on his feet. But Krem and Walker...hm. Between that armor and big-ass maul, Korrin has doubts that her Charger friend will be able to make the jumps.

[ Ellana takes out her crystal and tells it the names of the other four so they all can hear this if they've happened to separate. When she speaks, her voice is quiet. She's in spy mode, you see. ]

We're overlooking the main hall. We see six Avvar here who are definitely warriors and one who we can't tell if he's a mage or a warrior. There's a leader on a throne and he's arguing with others about what to do with the scouts. We can't see the scouts from here. Across from us is a stairway leading out, but they haven't spotted us up here. People are coming and going from the stairs, but it's usually just the seven people.

[ There's a pause of only a moment and the sound of her moving just a little. ]

There is a main entrance with guards. We've waited and watched the patrol shift, but we don't know yet how often they rotate. The entrance is just a big opening. The doors are gone.

Odds are they are deeper in the complex. Can you see any other way inside save for the front gate?

It's possible the stairs can lead to another exit, but I can't guarantee that.

I could attempt the stairs- stealth is my strongest suit. Eyes on the inside would give us a better understanding of the layout and how we should move forward.

Good luck. If anything changes, one of us will let you know.

"I, at least, you will not have to carry. This isn't the most perilous path I have had to take." Long story, that, and like most connected to the fifth blight. He cannot remember if it was the Temple of Andraste or somewhere in the Deep Roads- probably the latter. There had been so many traps laying about waiting for Alistair to find them, set them off, and delay them a good half hour before doing it all over again.

Ahh, the good old days.

Zev takes the first jump easily, landing and peering at the distance to the next. They feel stable enough.

"I might be able to make the jumps." He grunted, staring at the posts for a moment or two. He could just wade through the water as well, but any movement he might make could also attract the zombies, no matter how stealthy he can be. At the same time he knows that Korrin is strong, or at least looks strong, but the added weight from both him and Krem might be more than she could handle.

Hm, decisions. Alternatively, he could hang back or find an alternative route and leave most of the scouting to the elf....

"Don't think we really have the time to make more trips." And since fording the river might bring more attention to themselves than would be necessary or needed, he would go ahead and make the jump.

"Unless you can also carry some of my stuff as well." Namely anything that might get in his way.
