WHO: fenris and those brave enough to face him.
WHAT: Angry elf. Nuff said.
WHEN: Backdated to a couple of days after the Anders reveal
WHERE: Anywhere in Skyhold
NOTES: Violent elf prone to outbursts seeks revenge. It's likely to get violent or sweary easily. Probably just as well Anders is out of the fortress...

It had taken him a couple of days to find out. His lack of reading ability had him missing the notice that had been put up, and it was only when he overheard a pair of mages talking about him that he put two and two together - and the news had him mad in an instant.

He never agreed with what Hawke had decreed was Anders' punishment. He was of the opinion that Anders should pay the ultimate price for his sins - for they were many. It was sheer arrogance to think that he would get away with it, scott free, even though he was assured that the Wardens were 'taking care of things'. Like Hawke took care of Anders, and the city burned in the aftermath.

"Abomination, show yourself!" He was furious as he stormed through the courtyard of Skyhold, sword in hand, intent on finding Anders and possibly choking the life out of him. Certainly ripping out his heart would be an option right now. He wanted to see if Justice would keep Anders alive long enough so that it was a satisfying death.

"He's not here, you know."

Is the ever so calm response from Knight Commander James Norrington, who is sitting at his make-shift desk outside, in front of some of the other templar tents. He is, of course, going through his correspondence and reports, so doesn't even glance up. Besides, he recognizes the voice well enough. Fenris, the elf who had been with him and the others at Montemps.

So he feels comfortable addressing the angry, and well armed man now, as he was addressed in that village.

"And while I would like nothing better than to watch you run him through with that sword of yours or do that odd trick with your hand ... you realize that the Inquisition cannot allow you to murder him in cold blood?"

"Because Anders never murdered anyone," Fenris spat out, wheeling to look at Norrington. "How do you know he isn't here?"

Given the nature of Skyhold, and the way people moved in and out of the fortress, it was likely, but Fenris was seeing red, and sense might take a while to sink in.

"No, that abomination murdered dozens of people directly and hundreds indirectly and if I might be as so bold to pin an entire war on his robe tails, thousands upon thousands. He's a monster who should be slowly roasted over a pit of fire."

Is Norrington's blunt reply, as he puts down the report to give Fenris an even look. "Still doesn't change the fact that the Inquisition doesn't allow for retaliation in their ranks and that Anders, and the rest of the Wardens, headed out yesterday at early light. Some sort of mission."

"Vishante kaffas!" he spat out, his whole self tense with the knowledge that Anders had been hidden, here, with him close by. How many time had he passed that abomination without him knowing? He had turned away from Norrington, fighting for control once again as he tried to work out the logistics of chasing down Anders and the Warden party, even if he did respect some of those Wardens.

"Stupid policy that the Inquisition has." Roasting him over a pit of fire sounded like a fine solution to everyone's problems.

"Well, I would agree with that ... but it is keeping the mages from setting all the templars on fire, and is keeping my less temperate brothers and sisters from running through the mages and the Seekers, and is keeping the Seekers from slaughtering all of us for being a threat -- so I cannot complain about sharing the blanket of protection else I find myself without it." Norrington sat back with a long sigh.

"At most, I can wait for that bastard to mess up, lose control, and then the Inquisition nor the Wardens will have any right to stop my blade."

He gave a snort of derision before turning to face Norrington. "You'll have to be fast to get in before me. The abomination doesn't care about anything except his single minded crusade."

"Well, then I suppose we won't have to wait long to scramble to see who gets to kill him first then, will we?" Was Norrington's dry response, as he arched an eyebrow at Fenris, "In the meantime - we need warriors like you, Fenris. Here, taking care of the threats we can kill. Don't get yourself jailed for that ... that thing."

Fenris gave an angry growl, turning away from Norrington. "Did you see what Kirkwall was like?" he asked. "In the aftermath of what he did?"

"Yes. I did. My people and I were sent in to help clean up the mess of Kirkwall in the aftermath. They needed blood mage hunters -- considering the heavy number of them after the explosion." Norrington's eyes flared, "Beyond that. I am a Free Marcher, born and bred. The chaos that ... person let loose over my country is something I want to pay him back for in kind."

Fenris snorted. "I was with him after he did it. He showed no real remorse for all those that were killed. Let alone think about what could happen in the future. Though I think that took everyone by surprise." Of course, no one really expected Corypheus to exploit it all.

James's jaw tightened at those words, before he put the papers back down on his desk with a little more firmness. "Then we shall look forward to his future mistakes with more avid interest, won't we?"

The smile that Fenris gave in return was vicious, at the very least. "You say he's out with the Wardens at the moment?" At least he could watch when they came back.

"Currently, yes. They are on some secret mission. Hush-hush." James sighed, as he looked to Fenris. "So sadly revenge will have to wait another day, my friend."

Typical. Well, it wouldn't be the first time his revenge was put off until later. Danarius waited quite some years before Fenris managed to reap his revenge. It was all the sweeter for it. "You don't seem happy either," he pointed out.

"Well of course I am not happy." James snapped his papers with a little more violence than necessary to get them in order. "He's an apostate who killed a beloved Grand Cleric because he was having a temper tantrum, who is carrying around a spirit in his head that can turn into a demon at the blink of an eye. He's a damned abomination and a bomb waiting to go off -- and I can't do a damned thing about it."

Well. That got a bark of laughter from Fenris. "Don't forget those that were in the Chantry at the time." He'd never forget what it was like to be in the vicinity of the explosion, of how Anders calmly accepted whatever fate had in store for him. No regret.

"I should have saved Hawke the trouble at the time." One of the greatest regrets of his life.

James sighed, rubbing his face slightly, "I can never forget those people ... or the ones who were just walking outside, minding their own business. Or all the people who died in the aftermath."

He snorted softly, "The Champion seemed to have other ideas -- I applaud her sense of mercy. Just not the subject."

"It was trying times." That much he could accept. The pressure Hawke was under was immense - no matter what, everything in Kirkwall was falling apart, and nothing she could do could help. He just thought that if Anders wanted to die so badly, they should oblige.

"Yes, I can well imagine ... and considering the position that Meredith put her in, I cannot blame her for her actions. She clearly did her best." He sighed again, frowning down at his papers. "Was she in love with him? Anders, I mean."

"It's possible. Anders was charismatic - at least until the abomination began taking over more." He shook his head. "Though sometimes Hawke has too much of a bleeding heart, and will do anything for anyone she cares about." He knew that only too well when they fought Danarius, saving him from a return to slavery.

"Meredith was mad. Even more so when the red lyrium took hold it seems."

"Well ... maybe she was in love with all of you, then." James leaned back in his chair, before he looked up to the sky and sighed heavily. "Do you know what I want right now? Besides to give Meredith the good socking to the chin that she deserved? I need a drink. You?"

"I always need a drink," Fenris admitted, not wanting to think about whether Hawke had been in love with all of them. It would then involve him admitting any feelings he had for her... and he wasn't ready for that. Never would be.

"Then, I am done with these reports and we're going to get something to drink, Fenris." He stated, cleaning up the papers and putting them up under a stone.

"Shall we?"

Well, that was definitely an offer he couldn't refuse, and nodded at Norrington. "Best idea I've heard all day," he pointed out.

He quirked a half-smile, before jerking his chin towards the tavern. "The first round is on me. The second, my friend, is on you."
