pinprick: (Did not believe because I could not see)

Nathaniel feels...strange. And a little numb. Sort of like when he falls asleep on his arm and wakes up with the whole thing senseless and rubbery-feeling. Is he just now waking up? Has he been so utterly oblivious that he missed the last four months?

This is your bed you have chosen to make, you lie in it.

How upset Anders was when he thought Nathaniel was rejecting him for being an abomination. And he'd thought it strange, after Anders had seemed so happy to continue being friends, but it seemed to just be that Anders wanted a close friend to accept him, and was afraid he would not.

This...this is what makes sense. As little sense as it makes. And if it's true, if Anders really does have feelings for him, then Justice can already use Nathaniel to hurt him. If Nathaniel has to make the call to have Justice killed, it will already be a betrayal.

What if, in this storm, they could have one thing that belonged only to them? If there was a peace they could share away from prying eyes that no one could touch?

Nathaniel swallows and steps back, in the opposite direction from Zevran's retreat, and heads for the edge of the camp to think.
