"Her mother is very worried," she says quietly. "They were separated, she - she was buried in a snowdrift for some time."
The girl's lips are blue, her skin pale. Cassandra swallows, glancing up at Bruce with pleading eyes. "Is it too late?"

, someone whispers, and Cassandra's head whips around, looking for the source of the voice. There is no one there.
