Cassandra looks suspiciously at Cade for a moment more, and then, with a disgusted noise, turns away.

As she does so, she catches something out of the corner of her eye, and she whips her head around to stare again. Not at Cade, but at the group of creatures surrounding him. They're gone as soon as she tries to look at them, but she had seen them, and she takes a step closer, scanning the empty space behind him.
