The urge to rub her hair is incredible, but he also has no desire to be on latrine duty for three months, so he resists it and offers her a grin instead. "I am all too happy to listen to you rant," He replied, completely honestly. "Of course I'd prefer you laughing, but after what I've seen tonight, I really can't blame you."

He looked back at the Tavern. "They'll come around. Or they won't, and we'll all die, but I don't see how they can't. All this?" He waved his arm at the tavern before looking back at her. "They're all upset, they're all lost. The Inquisitor--" He hesitated, there, and though he was still smiling, it turned sad. "-- She meant a lot. To all of them. And most of them have no idea how to deal with the fact that now that we've lost her, we might have lost everything."

He hadn't meant to voice that thought and as soon as it was out of his mouth he tried to shove it away again immediately. "But we haven't, right? We still have each other." He wasn't sure if he was trying to reassure her, or trying to get her to reassure him.
