Which is true enough, though it doesn't have much to do with whether something could sneak up on him in the desert. "But I'll walk with you all the same. You're right after all; it's safer with two." He's thinking more of her safety than his, which is a bit unfair, as she's so much bigger than he, and hasn't done anything to suggest she may need rescuing. But he straightens his spine a little all the same, careful to take heed of their surroundings as they walk.
