"It's not any different than being friends with another human," he shrugged. "There are cultural differences, but when you're friends, you just learn to fit within each other's spheres. And you're right - everyone on this planet would be considered a new alien contact, even the humans. They've developed their own unique culture here. Even if they share DNA with Earth humans, the Federation would still classify them as alien." Sharing a common stock did not camaraderie make.
