Jayne does have a mighty soft coat. S'all the meat he gets to eat or steal or beg off people that ignore Mal when he asks them not to feed him. Meoni being new gets herself a big old dose of the puppy eyes- maybe cuz she don't know better she'll feed him a little bit of whatever she's got. Or keep right on scratch'n. He's just as pleased either way.
