It's never occurred to Ellana that the corsets changed the look of those women. She always assumed the garment just accentuated what was already there.

And if Araceli is trying to get Ellana's face to stay brick red, she's doing an awfully good job of it. It feels like all of her careful training to hide her emotions has flown out the window.

"I've seen the sea," she says, though she's sure she's told Araceli that already. "I think I can remember it enough to tell what reminds me of it here." Though she's not sure the woman working here will even acknowledge her, so she'll just bypass her and speak straight to her friend instead.
