Apparently they were to talk. Or rather Merrick wished to talk and Zevran, well. If there were to be words, there would be words. If there were to be blows? There would be blows. If there were to be blades? Merrick would likely find himself short a hand in short order but something made him suspect that, perhaps, it was words the Dalish wished to have rather than anything else. Not that it kept him from keeping his blades upon him as he worked and waited, brewing another round of poisons for his personal use.

It hadn't been long before Merrick had learned that the man he'd fought in the mud outside the tavern had, in fact, been Zevran Aranai. The Zevran Aranai. Even the Dalish knew of him, as the elf who had helped the Hero of Ferelden stop the Blight--a flat-ear, sure, but still an elf, and that meant something.

Not that Merrick much cared who he was beyond one thing-- That he'd managed to catch Zevran Aranai off guard not once, but twice. It made the humiliation of the ordeal much easier to bear, as well as fueled his determination as he sought Zevran out to speak with him after their agreement on Beleth's notice.

He moved quickly, blood pounding in his ears, all senses ready and alert in case a fight was in store-- Though a fight wasn't what he was looking for. Not this time.
