A nod, just one motion, that might be easily mistaken for something proud. Perhaps it is for the best that she misses that pinching of Araceli's expression, the echoes of memories it would inevitably carry. Herian has her own shadows that she does not easily allow to stretch and distort by granting further light. Neither would she risk banishing them completely.

"It is impossible to imagine just how easy it is," Herian replies evenly, no harshness creeping into her tone. "Even growing up in an alienage, seeing it first hand, I have held separate advantages. I do not think anyone could imagine it." Not an elf-blooded human, and certainly not any other type of human.

Herian tilts her head slightly, not enough to look over her shoulder, but enough to express a measure of interest. "It sounds as though there is a story in that," she observes, without any demand.
