He likes that smile. It's not one of the sorts he sees directed at him that often when the owner isn't Nate or Bethany. Purrelden, on the other hand, seems to like what Kirk is doing and she mews at him. It's not surprising that she talks as much as her owner, really.

"It's a surprise," Anders answers. "I gave the pets to both of them, I'd like to give the leashes as well. They both... They both mean a great deal to me." More than he can say in simple words, even.
