Kirk looked to Herian, shifting his own position to be more between the child and her and anyone else who wanted to do immediate harm. His gaze flickered to Anders, remembering what they done to try and heal him. While the time Kirk had been involved failed, there had been success after. It was possible with him, surely they could help this child. The child, if not else, deserved for them to at least try.
"It's a child!" he snapped at her. "An innocent child. Before you go drawing your sword, we should at least try to help him. After all he has been through, all the atrocities done to him, he is owed that much."
He wasn't beyond saving. He wasn't. Anders hadn't been. No one was, if you just tried. That was his belief. And life was to precious to give up on so quickly.
