I wish to court your
Bethany sighed heavily, scratched out that line with her quill, and then rubbed one slightly still ink-damp hand against her forehead, making a face as she realized she just blotted ink on her forehead. She crumpled up the parchment next to her and put it in the neat pile of other rejected letters she had so far written to Aleron's mother.
Who knew that facing Cassandra Pentaghast would be an easier task then facing her beloved's mother? She'd faced ogres, demons, blood mages, darkspawn of every coat and color, abominations and other horrors ...
Yet this letter might have been the scariest thing she had ever done in her life.
Ever.
And she had been to the Fade multiple times.
She rubbed at her nose, putting a slight blot of ink on the tip of her nose, set her shoulders and muttered to herself, "You can do this. You can do this. This is going to be wonderful and marvelous and she is going to ... at least not burn you at the stake. Yes. Good."
She commenced writing once more.
