Alistair's skeptical squint at Morrigan is placed briefly on hold so he can turn and wave back with a perfectly nonskeptical, unsquinty smile; if Kieran's battle isn't over by the time Alistair is done talking to Morrigan, he'll be down there in the dirt to help soon enough. One could argue--possibly--that where Kieran is concerned he's become what is commonly referred to as a sucker.
One could also argue he's always been one about nearly everything, and the suspicion and sarcasm were overcompensation, but... whatever.
He turns back to Morrigan. The squint returns, and he sits down next to her with the slow and wary movement of someone getting closer to something he half-expects to bite.
"I have never," he says, "made a doll that looks like you."
