Avery may not be smiling, and Jamie may be quieter than normal - but despite that, when they're settled and she's in the middle of cooking, it's not long at all before he's by the campfire, sniffing at the air appreciatively. Food is a sure-fire way to get him to come out of whatever thoughts he's gotten lost in, and now is no exception, even if he runs the risk of getting drafted to lend a hand with whatever needs doing. It's a risk he's willing to take.
