Maxwell noticed the shift, the little tightening around the woman's eyes, and wondered if he'd said something wrong... and remembered then how often he'd seen the Qunari in passing with another woman. He didn't know her personally, but the glow did tend to give the Rifters away.
He immediately felt bad. (And he thought it was difficult between him and Gavin, a human and an elf. At least one of them hadn't been pulled across the Fade from some great unknown.)
He couldn't reach her shoulder without stretching, so he touched her elbow lightly instead.
"That sounds like a good idea to me." Then after a squeeze, he withdrew politely. "And who knows, maybe if they figure it out, they'll learn how to send other things - raven's maybe. Something that could carry a message."
