He was, essentially, wishing her continued pain and distress in the face of calamity. Somehow, it didn't sound as terrible as it might have had it came from anyone else. Iskandar seemed like the earnest sort, and she didn't get the impression that he'd meant it maliciously at all. It was more of the opposite, given everything.
"I appreciate that," she told him softly, not quite smiling though her expression was a little softer than it was a while ago. "But it's... complicated, possibly to the point where it might not make sense to anyone not in my position, so I'll spare you the details for now."
She paused for a moment before adding, "But I'll accept your friendship, if you're really willing to offer it. Not many here are that quick with that sort of thing. I can't righttfully blame them, really, but... it's nice to spend time with someone who knows that those of us who came from the rifts mean no harm."
