"Oh. I'd not thought about using plants, but...aye, that might work. Maybe I'll ask her if I see her around sometime."

He hasn't recently, not that he can remember off hand, but he knows she's quite busy. And all in all, they're just straws and not all that important in the grand scheme of things. If he does happen to run into her and he actually remembers at the time, maybe he will ask. If not, though, no big deal. Besides, there's a decent enough substitute with the flask, and he takes it without hesitation.
