He laughed softly when she finished her description. To him this sounded like a fine creature and he was only disappointed that he couldn't meet this Crookshanks here and now. But that was how some things were so he couldn't let that drag him down. Besides, the way she spoke of him told him that she had such good memories of the cat which was just what he'd been hoping for.

"Perhaps you could take this little one under your care. This would not be your Crookshanks but I think the kitten could use someone so interested in seeing that it turns out well." He gave a nod to the kitten in the bowl who had finished up the little meal and was now sniffing at the hands holding the bowl it was sitting in.
