The shield is unnecessary: as Bethany opens the door, the group is greeted by the tangy, musty smell of a barely-used room that has contained a human for some time. The man addressing them is shackled to the wall, a bizarre decorative touch in what is otherwise a fairly typical chamber that might be used for a bedroom if it weren't so clearly used for... this. The man is bruised and filthy, thin as all get out, with a scrubby blond-ish beard and terror in his eyes. He scans the trio, his light green eyes searching each face and apparently not finding the one he seeks. "Where is she?" he croaks.
