Ellana is a bit confused too, and thinks it's a rather good idea to head after Merrill to help her. The very pissed off woman with the daggers doesn't seem like she wants to make peace, so Korrin can zap her all she likes. Bree, as one might imagine, is frozen in place from the shock, but as soon as she gets out of it she's going to be slashing and stabbing at them again.

There are several more braziers in the room, and once lit, it reveals the rest of the room as the poison gas draws back towards holes in the walls that act as vents. There is a set of doors leading out, more decorative elements scattered around, as well as several long stone coffins. The one broken open is still drawing the elves in, but Ellana stops briefly beside the man who fell on his own elemental mines. She crouches down and holds her fingertips beneath his nose, but feels no breath coming from him. There's blood on the ground beneath him, so most likely the mines tore a hole in him. She almost feels sorry for him: killed by his own weapon while trying to find a way out.

But then she stands and moves over towards the box, speaking to Merrill. "This is like the box before, isn't it? You said you felt drawn towards it." If it's meant to be found by one of the People, and nothing bad happened to Merrill the last time she opened a box, well... Might as well look inside, right? Ellana gets down beside it to carefully shimmy it completely free of the stone coffin before opening the lid. Inside is a beautifully crafted bit of metal that sort of resembles a dragon's wings. In the center is a purple stone the same as there was on the pommel, clearly showing the pieces belong to the same sword.

Around the time Ellana is pulling the box closer, the lightning bolt spell runs its course and Bree can move again. But now that the room is completely cleared of gas, she dives away from Jim and the others in a roll, growling in pain as her skin still feels on fire and now all her muscles do too from the electricity. She can see the exit, though. New plan: escape.

Maybe Ellana should be paying attention to that, but she can't when faced with this overwhelming piece of elven history. "This is the part that connects the blade to the hilt, isn't it?" She carefully lifts it out, but it feels as sturdy as if it was just forged. "The... sword guard? Crossguard? Sam will know." She exhales a long breath. Here she is holding a piece of what she's been searching for. It's been such a long road to arrive here, but they still aren't done. They still need the blade to complete the sword.

By now, against all odds, Bree has reached the doors and shoves them open, throwing her weight forward to break into a run to get away from these people. Immediately, a green glow is cast over her, but it's not an elven trap this time. It's a crackling rip in the Fade over her head, and in a circle surrounding her, shades appear in a burst of light and noise. But straight across from her a Revenant appears, throwing out a spectral hand to grab her and draw her close.

"Fuuuuuuuck!"
