Thingol - first called Elwë - was one of the few Elves that had stood in the Light and seen the Light of the Two Trees of Valinor. Such an event undoubtedly had an effect on his presence and while other Elves glow, he had a fierce Light; a Light strengthened by his marriage to the Maia Melian. She too was to thank for his excessive height on Arda. Said height had been diminished by over a foot, but he had not noticed yet.

"Then I suggest you arm yourself." he moved to stand before Beleth lest the demon take an interest in her, "How can it be killed?"

He assumed like any other beast. His sword - Aranrúth - would cut it deeply and bleed it dry if need be. This demon was like the creations of Morgoth and Thingol had no trouble wishing for its demise.
