"Dentists, really?" Hermione asks, unable to help but be intrigued. "I just sort of assumed... well, it's complicated, really." How would she explain that she grew up in a world with advanced medicine but went to school in another "world" that doesn't have any of those things?
"I know that medicine and surgery exist in Thedas, but I've never really been sure of what extent. Magic and medicine usually seem to be at odds with one another. Even though, really, they shouldn't be, not here where magic is out in the open the way it is. Granted, given that the magic here has a different source than the sort of thing I know of back home, I can understand why some people might be against delving too deeply into certain types of healing, especially if surgical procedures were to be involved. That can easily lend itself to the Dark Arts-... or blood magic, as it's better known here."
If nothing else, the repulsed look on her face shows just what she thinks of that, even if she has met some mages who've tried to claim that there are benefits to such a heinous thing.
looks good! ♥
