"When spirits entangle themselves with the fates of men, a Mononoke is born. This is true enough in your world as it is in my own," he explained.
"The Form they take may be monstrous indeed, and their actions volatile. But for some their Truth and Regret force them inward, and their Form does not change. Such a being cannot be recognized by sight alone."
He leveled a look at Inessa.
"This too I believe to be the same in both worlds."
