The Doctor could be a remarkably patient man, when he wanted to be. And typically this was applied toward children and people who were ill. He allows a smile before approaching the cot. "I am."

He then sat on the chair next to the cot. "It's impressive that you remember."

And that he didn't seem afraid of him. The Doctor knew long-term illnesses could go either way where memories were concerned. He was also aware of the fears associated with it.

He tilts his head and considers Aleron for a moment. "Are you having a good day?"

The Doctor will start there. In his brief time, he had done as much research as he could on the different people here. But before he could try to help the man, he needed to be sure that his information was correct. Either a Seeker responded worse to red lyrium, because they typically didn't use it, or there was some property to it that affected them in this way because of their ability to resist mind control. Frankly, both of those scared the hell out of the Doctor for how he might react to it. But he needed to know as much as possible in case he was ever caught and 'treated' with it.
