The knives are sharp and well cared for but not new and not fancy. There's barely any sign of the whetstone used to keep them sharp, the metal is buffed and polished to move those scratches.

"If it isn't sharp, it's cruel. Catching cloth, scratching skin, ripping and rending instead of slicing smoothly, sweetly. I kill when I have to. I try to be kind about it."
