More or less, yeah. The Fade isn't just home to demons and spirits, though, it's the source of magic and where people visit mentally when they dream. And when they die, their spirit passes through to beyond. It's...complicated and more than that is probably not want you want to hear right now, anyway.

And yeah, there's an ancient magister fuckup who thinks it would be a great idea to breach the Fade and become a god. The Breach -the mother of all rifts that started this whole mess- is his doing.
