Surprisingly, Merrick doesn't protest at all, and instead seems genuinely relieved that Cyril is making decisions here. He just feels incredibly lost, and can't argue for the sake of arguing like he usually does.

He lets Cyril lead him around, only partly taking in their surroundings as they go. Kirkwall is a massive departure from anywhere they'd lived before, and a lot of exploration is in order, but right now Merrick just doesn't care enough to even spare the new environments a second glance.
