James starts to move forward -- then stops, before looking over his shoulder at Natasha. To be frank, he had mostly come because he had heard the mountains were infested with dark creatures and he had no desire to watch Ellana wander off on her own and never come back. Natasha, though... she was the rogue element, pardon the pun. He wasn't quite sure why she volunteered. Ellana had already stated it fit their necessary needs for this mission, so he hadn't complained.
Just ... kept an eye on her.
Then, of course, they came to a cave that was not magically trapped. Didn't mean there wasn't something else there.
"After you, madam." He said respectfully. "If you just let me know if the entrance is trapped - I'll be happy to take point after that."
