When one was thinking about a very drunk dwarf who was rough around the edges and more than a little gross and perverted, one did not usually expect to find said dwarf in the market looking around at different toys and games for children. Yet this was where Oghren was for most of this month, studying the different things there and grumbling to himself as he debated whether one was better than another. Would this be fun? Would anyone want something like this one here?

Crossing his arms, he stared at one stand, looking back and forth between a board game and what looked like a wooden puzzle that made a duck. One of those brain teaser things that he obviously he would never be able to solve.

"Felsi's better at this than I am," he mumbled before noticing someone watching him. "Looking at a free show here?"

Okay maybe he was a little moody because he hated being so bad at this. Don't mind him.

[ooc: Oghren is looking for toys/games to send to his kid! Don't mind him being moody though. He's just having issues with the fact that he feels like a failure of a dad for not knowing how to toy shop.]

"Chess? Can't say I'm great, but I do know how to play." One of the few games that a mage could play in the Circle besides taking up reading every book in the library for a past time.

"Why do you ask?"

"Thought maybe you could write down the rules so I could send them to him." You know, so his son would know how to play the sodding thing. That was probably the most important part here.

That pulls a chuckle from the mage. "I suppose rules would make it easier to learn. I'm going to suggest perhaps seeing if there is a book on it already, one with good illustrations. If we can't... I'll write them down." More like rope his roommate into writing it for or with him since he seemed to really love the game.

"Well then I guess you're helping me look for that. Come on then, let's go over there where there's some books being sold and you can help me look." Yes, he'd literally just recruited Sam without giving him a choice and then walked away to the other stall. Lucky, Sam?

Lucky him? He wasn't exactly planning on going shopping for a chess board and rule book, but guess that is what he was doing. "If you... we, cannot find it here there is always a bookstore somewhere in town. Could also see if we can order one from a different town...?" Least he had been able to do that back in Skyhold with Bonnie.

"Next town? Can't say I know what's near here. I've never been over the waters to Kirkwall before." Then again he'd mostly traveled when he was with someone. Or running away or to something.

Wow. He was good at that running business...

Well anyway... "So I don't know much about the north."

"Can't say I know much about the Free Marches outside of Ostwick myself..." You know with the whole running from the Blight and then getting thrown into the Circle. "But I'm sure with the Inquisitions connections we can put out an order is all I mean. We'll think of something no matter what. Let's go see about getting the chess board first. No point in having rules without the actual game."

"Heh. Got a point there." Going straight over to a merchant, he wasted no time in baffling them by just going straight for the kill. Which was to say that they became very startled and ill as he suddenly let loose a nasty fart. Like the putrid pits of hell just rose up and filled the area. A terrible mixture of every horrible scent possible. He was surprised himself and looked back at his own ass.

"Was wondering when that would come out. Didn't think it would be now though."

Sam likewise was very startled, and very much thankful that he hadn't been standing behind the dwarf. That didn't save him from the smell however, still within range for the foul odor to reach his nose. It was enough to make him gag, before covering both his nose and mouth with his hand and taking several steps back.

The poor merchant was cornered though, eyes wide as they looked at Sam as if he was leaving them to a terrible fate. "Ugh... you should have considered using that on the dragon," he manages to say, trying not to sound sick.

"That? Nah that's not going to take down a dragon. Now get me some more pickled eggs in me and then we'll be talking."

He laughed and took in a deep whiff of his own gas. Yeah, that was definitely not the worst he'd ever done in his lifetime.

"Alright. So you got any of these chess sets?" The merchant just looked at Sam because he seemed...safer than the smelly dwarf.

No, he'd rather not do that. As it is he's having a hard enough time with the current smell, more so when he actually sees the dwarf take a whiff of it. Ugh.

Sam looks sympathetic towards the merchant. "Do you have any chess sets? The sooner we look-" He trails off after that, but it's clear that he's suggesting 'the sooner we can leave you alone'.

The merchant waved them over to a box and said they were welcome to look through and see if they could find what they were looking for. Oghren shrugged and went over to start fishing through it. He wasn't all that sure about what he was looking for because he wasn't sure if he'd ever seen a chess set before but eh he could still pretend to know something.

He got credit for trying? Maybe?
