Kain’s face turns bright red for a bit. If it weren’t for the whole dragon slaying moment, Kain would never consider doing this, and least of all in front of everyone else. It’s only now sinking in a little, what he’s just done, and what it implies. But what does Inessa think about that? Was she just swept up in the moment? He’s a bit worried now, and not able to just outright ask here and now if he’s done the right thing. What if she rejects him?

He takes the offered cup and bowl, realizing just how famished he feels. Dragon-slaying is also very hard work.

“I don’t feel too bad at the moment. A little bit of soreness… but this is nothing, compared to last time.” His choice of specialization admittedly gives him a high pain tolerance, though.
