The Medicine Seller was feeling indulgent, given that Fenris had done him a kindness, but not so indulgent as to offer any concrete explanations as to just what he was. Especially if the sword remark were a thinly veiled threat. Moreso, it would be a terribly long explanation, one he didn't want to give with that shopkeep craning his neck to eavesdrop on the elves he probably suspected were scheming to rob him blind. And even beyond that, people here would have very little context, and there were too many words that just didn't translate well without giving the very wrong impression.
"Nihonjin," he said, sounding just a bit more at home with the word than anything else he'd said. It wasn't technically a lie. It just wasn't the whole truth of things. "Though some variation of 'Japanese' would be said in the languages here."
He gave a thoughtful 'hm' as he considered for a moment.
"That probably means very little to you. I do apologize."
Not that there was much he could do about it. Context was important, after all, and he didn't exactly have a world map he could whip out and show Fenris.
