"I'm sure you know this word has several pronunciations, right?" he said, tapping it for emphasis. "In this case, what you want to do is not try and figure out that particular word, but focus on the words around it. Those are context clues and they'll inform you of what word you're looking at or how it should be said. Just imagine that you're going to speak that sentence aloud to someone. How would you say that word to fit the rest of the sentence?"
