They make an unusually good team by virtue of Cade having a very quiet voice to begin with, so he's able to whisper the cards and their positions to Myr without making too much noise. He's glad to not have to talk too much otherwise, and doesn't mind being in the background of the conversation; too much attention makes him nervous.
"Um," he stammers, caught unprepared by Myr's question, "you're all right." Translation: do what you like.
