In fairness, it didn't smell as bad when it was a little less overcrowded but pack as many humans as they packed in here when they didn't fancy Lowtown and couldn't go anywhere else and you get squalor. Navigating is easy enough, the stone sense Orzammar wouldn't want him to have probably the thing that helps him, that dwarven sort of thing same as how he sees better in the low light too. This is home.
Being down here again after he spent so long doing things he didn't think he'd need to but apparently he really had to because that's what family is makes his flesh crawl but he forces it down. This isn't about him. It's about faces disappearing and people that don't matter enough for the guard to bother. Or people who can't or won't go to the guard or anyone else. He can stomach this for them. If he was alone he might say something to the men but he's not exactly willing to test their opinions of Ellana and hurries past them, nice and quiet. (Despite the mouth, the gesturing, he's a rogue at the end of the day, he did learn all this and he's good at it.)
"It's pickin' the right one, that'll be the pain in the arse. This is the great unwashed of Kirkwall, it all happens down here," Yngvi murmurs as he tries to look for faces he doesn't know. Which is going to be a problem because he knows too damn many and trying to sort them already is kind of distracting now that he's actually here and dealing with everything all at once.
