While Kit speaks, the Dragon slips the earring into a narrow vial and pops open his selected flask.
"Two weeks!" A brief, sidelong brow punctuates his mild, almost appreciative surprise. "That's better than what I would have counted on, though you were exceptionally stupid to keep using it whilst it faded." He snorts. "Magic becomes unpredictable when it loses stability and strength. I was somewhat concerned it may blast your ear off with a piercing shriek or some other unpredictable effect at that point. That is why I specified one week."
Carefully, he slowly pours a finger or two of blue-yellow liquid over the earring and begins a string of impossible syllables strung together, a musical concoction of rolled R's and rounded vowels. The fluid glows a pale golden-green whilst the earring floats and revolves in the center of the pool. The Dragon places the vial over a low flame and stoppers his remaining solution, a bit of a frown sown into his brow.
"Well, that should carry us a few more months," he murmurs, partially to himself. At long last, he looks up at Kit. "This will take the night. You can come fetch it in the morning."
