Before they were called the Chimer but after that, the Dunmer. Eventually Red Mountain erupted and most of the Dunmer fled to Skyrim as refugees, if they're in a place called Windhelm they've got a shit deal, there's one bit of the city they get to live in there and I hate that place. Some of the Dunmer started to go home to rebuild too after the eruption but there was an invading Argonian force.
