[Closed] Find the Missing Inquisition Team

WHO: Thor, Korrin, Fingon, and Loki
WHAT: Heading off to see if they can find their missing teammates
WHEN: Slightly backdated
WHERE: Sunless Lands
NOTES: This does not have a happy ending.

A qunari, an elf that was at least a Rifter, and his brother. There was a lot that Thor could read into the assortment of people he'd been assigned for this mission, but he was choosing to try not to do so. Politics happened, and there was enough of a rift between the North and the South that he should expect some challenge, if it was even deliberate.

Thor meets with the three of them, expression serious.

"Let us set out. They have already been out in the cold for a long time. If there are any additional questions, ask them as we work." He's not a fan of sitting around and talking when there's work to be done.

Korrin nods, expression serious at mention of their missing people. Whatever she may think of Tevinter folk -and there are certainly exceptions to that general rule- it doesn't matter in light of the urgent situation. Their people come first, and she's capable of putting any tension aside for their sake. Already well-prepared and itching to get moving, she's glad to see this Thor is of the same mind.

"Sounds good to me, I just want to get out there." She doesn't waste any more time, following as soon as he starts them off.

"The sooner we leave the better," Fingon agrees grimly. The odds that they'll find the team alive seem poor enough at this rate; no need to compound it with more discussion.

As they move he glances ahead, looking for a glint of metal or uncovered footprints- and keeping an eye out for other dangers as well, who knows whether there's ice hidden under all this snow. There's nothing so far, but the right vantage point might give them a better view.

Fortunately, there's a hill not far ahead of them which might just do the trick.

Loki, unlike the rest of the company, is less concerned with the survival of their men than he is preoccupied with the cold. He moves along once Thor and the others start on their snowy trek, but he doesn't seem entirely thrilled by either where they are or what they're doing. As admirable as Thor's restraint is, regarding the politics of this mission, Loki is having a hard time matching it.

"Keep an eye for tracks, I suppose I'll keep watch on the weather. Can't have it turning on us and catching us unawares--"

--Like the last team, presumably.

Loki takes up the rear of their little company and has no qualms about that. The odds of them being flanked and ambushed are fairly low given that they are wandering a snowy, featureless waste.

"They do, yeah. It won't hurt to keep that in mind." It could be nothing, but Korrin really hopes otherwise. They need some news to bring back, even if at this point she isn't expecting it to be anything but the worst. Impatient to get a better view, she'll cast Fade Step and blur forward on waves of magic, emerging a bit closer with a soft popping sound. If it takes more usages than that, she'll do it again after a few moments.

Fingon gives a short shake of his head.

"Unless they've been possessed, we needn't worry about a threat from the bears. They rarely attack people unless they are starving or feel threatened."

He shrugs, the gesture light as elven feet upon the snow. "On the other hand, they may be inconvenient. Corpses are easy meals."

Looking out beyond them, he can see it as well- "Something made of wood, I think."

Loki, true to his word for once in his life, keeps up the rear of the party and regards the space behind them. He is keeping an eye out, as promised, but given that it is an expanse of white and little more, he is not expending overmuch effort doing so.

"I may be remiss if I don't point it out, but we are the only food within eyesight. If we see a bear, do be good sports and kill it immediately."

Korrin doesn't reply right away, clearing away some snow and taking a moment to examine the item. Then her shoulders sag as she's certain of what she's found. "It's a bow...and one of ours, I can tell by the craftsmanship. There are a couple of scattered arrows, too. I don't see anything else nearby, but...."

Well, it's not a good sign, anyone can see that.
