The Inquisition is sometimes home more than home has ever been. Merrill misses Hawke and the Kirkwall crew dearly, but she has friends among the Inquisition now, too - and they're back in Kirkwall. Having left (and later killed, in self defense) her clan, this is her clan, now - or the closest to it.

Though then Beleth mentions a plague and Merrill pales a bit.
