"Yeah, that sounds nice." As they go to sit, she says, "How have you been? Really." They see each other daily, most of the time, but they're both busy enough that it's easy to go awhile without really talking beyond pleasant endearments and practicalities. She used to let that go, but not as much anymore. Not too long, at least.
