Tessa is not an experienced horsewoman, so she's riding behind whoever would take her as a burden because they inevitably had to deal with her horse puns the entire way. At least they're near their destination, so they can dismount and she can knock it off already.
Looking out in the direction Darras is staring at, Tessa squints, trying to determine if the water is in fact darker. It doesn't seem so to her eyes, but then again, it's not super bright out here to be able to see the distinction.
