While Jamie may not be one of the rifters that are able to use magic in their own right, he's spent the last few years learning to accept things that might have well been magic, given when he comes from. While being here has been an adjustment, to be sure, coming from a life like that does have its benefits. Right now, it means that he's fairly comfortable with mages - well, as long as he's not being set on fire or anything like that. Since this new mage doesn't seem inclined to be going around and doing things like that, Jamie's more than happy to move over to offer space on the wall where he's currently sitting.
