Looking at the single bed in their tiny room, the limited floor space and lack of chairs, the next issue comes to mind. She, of course, has no problem sharing a bed—every expense was spared in furnishing the slave quarters at the Dominus’ estate, so she and the other slaves would often share sleeping arrangements for comfort and warmth, and simply because it was easier than trying to coordinate work rotations with whose turn it was to sleep. But Colin is likely more used to sleeping alone, having his own bed and his own room.

“Do...you mind sharing the bed?” It isn’t something they’ve done since they were kids, back when things were still new and different and they hadn’t been driven apart by their respective roles. She manages a little smile and shrugs a shoulder. “Like old times, eh?”
