( despite the shortages on various foodstuffs, there’s still plenty of firewood, and thranduil’s office is snug, the tapestries on the wall insulating the stone walls, and helping preserve the heat from the fire. the desk is stacked neatly with a half-dozen reports, old and new, plus a few errant books from the library (one with recently increased rabbit-eared pages) waiting to be returned to the collection.

the teapot has herbal tea, half consumed, a mug and a spare at hand—and the door is open. )
