There's no judgement there, at least. Maybe Octavian would do something similar if he was given the chance - liberate their resting ancestors from the depths of the crypts in order to free them from whatever might happen in Nevarra. She hasn't been formally disinherited yet, not as far as she knows, but she's sure her brother would be content with taking the reigns.

He had always been content with taking everything else from her.

There's a long moment where all her focus is on the child and nothing else, beginning careful stitches - until it's clear that she's been in thought, considering her words.

"No. I do not know." It stings a little. She would like to know how her brother is, but that is beyond her now. She is not simply Sidony Venaras any longer; she is a Rutyer as well, for all that it means. "I have not heard a word from Octavian. I imagine even if all was not well he would not be permitted to write me. He is the most precious of mother's possessions."
