The dwarva are smaller than others in Thedas, sure, but that doesn't make them a joke or funny; they're a people with a long history that's complicated and horrible and proud, and a culture that's a mix of wretchedness and beauty. So it's a little enraging when it just turns into people having a laugh because dwarves are small. But this man doesn't seem to be mocking her at all, doesn't seem to be sneering at her size - and he doesn't seem like he makes a lot of jokes, besides, and she'd like to encourage a sense of humor. So she isn't a bit offended.
